ROME WILL BE THE CAPITAL OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES WITH ZEROEMISSION ROME

The upcoming edition of the show dedicated to renewable energies, environmental sustainability, climate changes and emission trading will be full of new situations and events.
Green economy is moving ahead fast and offers important opportunities of economic development, which will also have a positive effect on occupation. And it is not by chance that the new president of the United States, Barack Obama, wants to invest USD 150 billion over the next ten years in renewable energy to create five million new jobs.
In this stimulating worldwide atmosphere, the reference event for companies interested in the development of renewable energies, environmental sustainability, climate changes and emission trading in the market of the Mediterranean area is ZeroEmission Rome.
The previous edition, which took place from 1 to 4 October 2008, at the new Rome Fair centre, saw significant results. The Fair occupied an area of 25,000 square metres and was characterized by its internationality, with about 30% of the more than 300 exhibitors from international countries. The event was visited by more than 18,000 people, of which about 1,900 attended the qualified conference and workshop programme in which 332 speakers took part in the 46 sessions.
Considering these results, the upcoming edition of ZeroEmission Rome, scheduled from 30 September to 2 October 2009, will be full of new situations and events. The fair will be made up of diverse specialized events: Eolica Expo Mediterranean.(the international fair for wind energy); CO2 Expo.(the international fair for the carbon credit market); Agrienergy Expo.(the international fair dedicated to energy from renewable agricultural energy sources); Biofuel Expo.(the international fair for the technologies and sustainable industry of liquid biofuels); PV Rome Mediterranean.(the international fair dedicated to photovoltaic technologies in the Mediterranean area); CSP Expo Solartech.(the international fair dedicated to technologies for the production of concentrating solar power plants). This year will see also see a new entry - CCS Expo.- the international fair dedicated to carbon capture and storage. During ZeroEmission Rome, for the first time, Watermed.and Geotech Expo. will also take place.
Watermed is the first fair to be dedicated to the technologies of water for the Mediterranean area: industrial, wastewater and drinking water. The fair is a showcase on the most advanced technologies, products, services and solutions for the treatment of water and the management of combined cycles. With a dedicated area, conferences and meetings, Watermed will focus on desalination technologies, which can make sea and salt water drinkable.
Together with ZeroEmission Rome 2009, another new event will also take place: Geotech Expo, the first fair for the geotechnical industry fore the Mediterranean area. The fair will offer a complete panorama on drilling, extraction and transport of underground fluids, platforms and equipment for geotechnical investigations on site, perforation for deep and horizontal foundations, instruments and equipment for environmental analysis, monitoring and restoration of land, capture of CO2 and the seismic industry. "All these events will position our Rome appointment as a par excellence event undergoing considerable development," said Marco Pinetti, Director of ZeroEmission Rome. "It gives the perfect idea, in fact, of the dynamics and the growing strategic importance of the sector it represents".
